I don't know where to start, and it would be impossible to end in describing my mom so I'm going to focus on just one characteristic: Mom loved well.
She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and she faithfully lived her life to bring glory to Him. The way she loved all the rest of us flowed out of her deep and abiding love for God, and perhaps more importantly, out of her ever growing understanding of His steadfast love for her.
She loved Dad. They have remained loving, devoted, committed for over 57 years of marriage. It has been such a gift to see them model love for God and love for one another in their public and private lives.
She loved her family. So many ways. So many big and little things. She listened, cared, encouraged, prayed, laughed, cried, smiled, hugged, cooked, welcomed, gave, forgave. She fostered love and friendship between her kids and grandkids so beautifully.
She loved her church family and her friends. Committed, kind, generous, faithful, sincere, caring. She loved and was loved by so many.
She loved her neighbors and others God brought into her path and longed to share the love of Jesus with each one.
My mom, my friend. I miss her so much. I can't imagine life without her. Yet, in light of eternity, it will be just a short time until I will be with her again singing praises at the feet of Jesus. When we all get to heaven, when we all see Jesus, what a day of rejoicing that will be!!!
