Obituary of Dolores F Butler

Dolores F. Butler, age 89, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2023 at Tacoma General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 11, 1933, in Darrington, Washington to William and Flora Cook. She was the youngest of their seven children.

Dolores and husband Gene made their home in Puyallup, WA where they raised two children before moving to Graham, WA. After Gene’s death Dee moved to Orting, Washington where she resided for the next 30 years and met her late-in-life partner Carl Heidy.

Dee enjoyed singing and playing the piano. She and Gene traveled extensively during retirement spreading their Christian faith with Dee singing her way across the western and central United States. She was a past member of the Puyallup Lady Lions and a member of the Orting Eagles Auxiliary. She loved flowers and chatting with friends and family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, grandson Gene Allen Butler II, and partner Carl Heidy; her parents Will and Flora Cook; sisters Bonnie, Clara, Winnie, Minnie and Naomi; and one brother Raymond. Dolores leaves behind her children: Brad Butler (Stephanie) and Lori Bisping (Chuck), along with grandchildren Sara (Chris), Daniel, Derek and great grandson Evan; as well as many very special nieces, nephews and friends who were considered family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 29th at 10:00 AM at Christian Faith Center Chapel 33645 20th Ave S, Federal Way, Washington 98003. The Chapel is located on the west side of the main sanctuary building. The family invites you to join them for lunch in the church reception room immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests remembrances be made to a church or charity of choice.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dee’s friends and staff at Bonaventure Senior Living of  Puyallup for their friendship and caring during the last year of her life.
