Obituary of Anthony Joseph Alia

Anthony Joseph Alia began his eternal life with Jesus Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the age of 86. Tony was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was born in Connecticut on June 5, 1934. He is survived by his four children; Cinthia Mitchell, Shelly Alia, Michele Alia, Anthony Alia Jr. and his four grandchildren; Mckayla Medley, Madelyn Medley, Sierra Mitchell and Kennedy Aberegg.

Tony served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He met his wife, Judith Anne Alia while stationed at Fort Lewis Army base. They married August 19, 1961 and raised their four children in Tacoma.

Tony was an excellent provider and a dedicated family man. He always made sure his family’s needs were met. He was a hard worker and instilled a strong work ethic in all of his children.

Tony enjoyed fixing cars and taking his family on road trips. He would repair and paint cars in his garage to make extra money to take his family on annual vacations. He also loved to dance with his wife. Tony and Judy were always the first couple on the dance floor at weddings, reunions and parties. One of their children’s fondest memories was watching their parents dancing in the living room to their favorite 50’s records. Tony’s favorite past time was eating out and going to the Casino. Tony and Judy took many outings together to the Casino to eat dinner, dance at the club and gamble. They would spend hours laughing, dancing, sometimes winning jackpots, but always having a great time.

Tony was a generous man. He was always there for his children and for anyone who needed help. He enjoyed people, made friends easily and loved to go out for breakfast or dinner with family, friends.

Although we will miss him very much, his spirit will live on through his children, his family and all the people he encountered and assisted during his life on earth. God bless you and hold you in his loving arms. We love you Dad! You will always live in our hearts and minds.
