Obituary of Juanita Bailey Lunke

Juanita Natividad Bailey Lunke was born on May 16, 1930, in Paia, Maui, Territory of Hawaii, to wonderful parents, Severo and Beatrice Natividad. She passed away peacefully on April 21, 2019, at the age of 88 in Puyallup, Washington. Juanita, affectionately known as "Auntie Anita or Nita" by her family and friends, was the fourth of thirteen children. At an early age, she and her older siblings were tasked with the responsibility of helping to care for her younger siblings, a role that helped shape her character and determination. Though petite in stature, she was independent, had a mind of her own and was not afraid to voice her opinion or meet life’s challenges head on. Anita was a devoted wife, mother, sibling and friend. She had a passion for gardening, bonsai, collecting oriental pagodas, and making silk flower arrangements – all which adorn her beautiful home of over 45 years in Puyallup, Washington. She was also a treasured member of the Secret Pal society. Preceding her in death are her beloved son, Marvin Killen, her husband Bill Bailey, and her more recent husband Lloyd Lunke, her parents, two siblings who died in childhood, and her sister, Felicidad Natividad Cariaga. Anita is survived by sisters Trinidad Ortiz, Angeline Ogata and Clara Felix of Hawaii; Linda Trinidad and Patricia Taylor both of California; brothers Benjamin Natividad of Hawaii, Franklin Natividad of Washington, Stanley Natividad of Arizona and Ernest Natividad of California and her many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her “hanai” siblings (one so close to you to be considered family - even without a blood relation), Dolores and Jim Graham and Karen Williams of Puyallup Washington - a very special Mahalo to you for 45 plus years of friendship, love and undying devotion. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 3rd, 2019 at 11:30am at Hill Funeral Home in Puyallup. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery also in Puyallup.
