Obituary of Carol Giese

Carol Ann Giese, 79, of Edgewood, was welcomed into Heaven on February 26, 2019. She was born to parents Arthur and Mina Kriegel on February 4, 1940 in Tacoma, WA. Carol graduated from Federal Way High School and attended Washington State University where she met her future husband, Ken Giese, during a snowball fight. Carol was married to Ken in 1961. She is survived by Ken and their daughters Sherry Roland and Marci Berry, and her sister Lynn Naumann. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Gary (Marissa), Carl (Mandy), and Emily Roland and Christian, Justine, and Nicholas Berry and 2 great-grandchildren, Harley and Hannah Roland. After college, Carol worked as a medical receptionist. As their family grew, she felt blessed to be a stay-at-home mom and homemaker for many years. Later she became secretary for her church before retiring. She was head-over-heels in love with all her grandchildren. You often would find her enjoying lunch out with longtime friends and cousins. She was very active in her church, with Hill & Dale Garden Club, and her Post-Polio Support Group. She liked to relax on her back patio, enjoying her flowers and watching the birds. Carol inspired us with her constant and fierce love of her husband and family, her strong Christian faith, and her beautiful smile. Celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 2306 Milton Way, Milton, WA 98354. Please stay for lunch and fellowship after the service. Should friends desire, flowers are always welcome or memorial donations may be made to End Polio at https://www.endpolio.org/donate .
