Obituary of Vernon Wolf

Vernon Wayne Wolf “Grumpy” Passed away in his home on December 2, 2018 in Graham, Washington at the age of 88. Vernon is survived by his children, Shelly Green of Graham, Rodney Lashley (Brenda) of Spokane, Verna Riley (Jimmy) of Orting, and Bill Wolf (Sarah) of South Prairie. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Alveda Wolf of Orting, Wife Leota Wolf of Graham, children Cheryl Lane (Dick) of Graham and Dewey Lashely of Orting. Vernon was born on April 2, 1930 in Sumner, Washington to Edward and Alveda Wolf. He dropped out of school in the tenth grade in 1945 and joined the Navy where he served for the next 22 years. He retired in 1967 and moved to Orting where he met and married Leota. He also worked at the commissary on McCord Air force base for 20 years. After retiring he would volunteer in the wood shop at the Washington State Soldiers Home and Colony. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00am on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Hill Funeral Home in Puyallup with a graveside service at Sumner Cemetery following. A reception to follow at the home of Bill and Sarah Wolf in South Prairie. Minister Larry Redelsperger will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Vernon Wolf’s life.
