Obituary of Marla Hunter

Marla Renee Hunter Our Marla was called to heaven by her Lord on 11/27/2018. Raised and making her home in Puyallup, she attended Spinning Elementary, Kalles Junior High, and graduated from Puyallup High School in 2005. Employed at Ballou Junior High, Marla loved her job serving food to the staff and students. She was also a Licensed Massage Therapist, always carrying a massage table and willing to travel the state. Always cheerful and positive, Marla was a doting aunt, often found playing games with her nieces and nephews, showing them love and attention at all times. She could always be counted on to help others, willing to drop her plans at a moment’s notice to help someone else. This was the way she lived, giving when she could and being a positive influence on her family and friends. She truly made a difference in the lives of all of us and we are the better for having her with us these too-few years. It should be noted that, like her mother, Marla was a very creative and “crafty” person, hand-making personalized gifts for others. She began to help her mother with craft demonstration in the Hobby Hall and a food demonstration in the Home Arts area annually while “doing the Puyallup” about 8 years ago. Her family appreciated the obvious love and thoughtfulness she put into her gifts and we will all treasure those gifts as they are truly a little part of her we can all cherish and remember her by. She is survived by her parents Wanda and Eric (Lisa), her brother Allen, step-siblings Jarrod (Stephanie), Rebekah (Jeremy), and Weston, grandparents Earl and Laura Quirie, great aunt Dolores (Cliff), and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. She had many friends who will also miss her. A Celebration of Marla’s Life will be held on 12/06/2018 at 7 PM at Bethany Baptist Church, 713 South Hill Park Drive, Puyallup, WA 98373. Please join us.
