Obituary of Peggy Sherrell

Peggy “Joann” Sherrell May 8, 1930 – Oct. 5, 2018 Our mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, entered into heaven at 88 on a beautiful Friday in Puyallup, Wash. Born in Artesia, Calif. to Joseph Breckenridge Brandon and Wilma “Fern” Brandon, Joann was the eldest of four children. She married William “Howard” Sherrell in ’49. They had three children and Puyallup became home where she raised her family. Joann loved traveling with family, nature, and gardening in her yard. She could walk circles around anyone, had an active mind, loved puzzles, reading and could transform anything into beautiful art. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Joann was loved by everyone she met and her beautiful contagious smile and witty sense of humor will be missed dearly. Preceded in death by her father, mother, sisters Betty and Lita, husband, son Terry, and Grandson Alex. Survived by her brother, Nyal Horner, of Wenatchee; children Lee Sherrell, Jan Simons; Grandchildren, Angela, Dana, Joe, Jay, Craig, Adam, Michelle; and many great-grandchildren who all held a special place in Grandma’s heart. Graveside services are Friday, Oct. 12 at 1 pm at Woodbine Cemetery in Puyallup, WA.
