Obituary of Joan Marie Dudley

PUYALLUP – Joan Marie Dudley, 87, a lifelong resident of Ballard, and Puyallup, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away at Tacoma General Hospital early afternoon on Friday, November 18, 2022. She died peacefully, surrounded by family.

Joan was born in Ballard, Washington to the late Romie and Edna Henley on October 21, 1935.

She was a graduate of Ballard High School and then Beauty School and spent her life as a Beautician for nearly 50 years. In addition to her career as a Hair Stylist she enjoyed leading Camp Fire Girls groups, Cake Decorating, raising Chihuahuas and spending time with friends.

Joan was best known for her friendly and caring personality, warm sense of humor and wit. Her most favorite moments were spending time with friends and family. A lover of people and good conversation, she enjoyed swapping stories with family, friends, customers, and strangers alike. Children and pets always brought a smile to her face.

She is survived by her children Patricia Anthony and Thomas Dudley; her sister Dorothy Burnett; three granddaughters, Lindsey Evans, Amber Smith, and Brandi Algoe; three great grandchildren, Reid Evans, Autumn Algoe, and Kayden Algoe; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

 

An inurnment will be held on January 20, 2023 from 11:00 to 12:00 at Crown Hill Cemetery.

A celebration of Joan’s life will be held on January 20, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 at Sunset Hill Community Club in Ballard.
