Ruth lived in Tukwila for most of her life. She grew up there with her brother Stan and her sister Bernice. She married her sweetheart Howard there. She raised 2 daughters, Shalee and Deoan and 3 sons, Mike, Norman and Roger there. She welcomed 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren over the years. We all loved her and will all miss her gentle presence.
Ruth was a very creative lady. She was an amazing cook. The jams, jellies and desserts that she made from the apples and wild blackberries around were such treats! And the cookies and the bread. So much bread!
She played the old piano in the dining room until it rattled the windows. It was joyful!
She spent hours at the sewing machine making curtains and clothes and sewing up holes in favorite old things.
She made birthday cards that are still treasures today.
She loved cats and always seemed to have more than she wanted.
Ruth was a gentle, kind lady who lived a life guided by love.
Her life was full of challenges and she persevered. She lived her life with a faith that saw her through the hard times.
Ruth lived a good long life. We will think of her often and with much love.
