Josephine Broeker

Obituary of Josephine A Broeker

Josephine Anna Broeker, was welcomed home on November 17th, 2021. Preceded in death on September 9, 2021 by Donald Broeker her husband of 64 years, she was a loving wife and mother, treasured grandma and great grandma.  She passed away in her longtime home of Puyallup, Wa.

Josie was born May 30, 1937 to Henry and Margie Whisenant in Raymondville, Texas.  She was Don’s “Yellow Rose”.  She is survived by her three sisters: Joanne, Betty and Shirley. Also survived by her four children: Steve (Evelyn), Jeff (Lisa), Gary (Audrey) and Donna (Mario).  She delighted in her “darling” 16 grandchildren: Amber, Desiree, Robert, Rebecca, Kayla, Karina, Joel, Rachel, Alyssa, Grant, Solomon, Richard, Grace, Ella, Violet and Jarin.  She was blessed by her five great grandchildren: Madison, whom she is with in heaven, Skyler, Aiden, Tyler, Justice and Anthony.

Josie loved going on daily long walks, and loved reading and studying her Bible.  She enjoyed looking for bargains at thrift stores and yard sales.  Josie was generous with her belongings, always happy to give them away. She gave creative gifts and came up with the most amazing grandma activities.  Gardening was a favorite pastime, as was spending time with her family.  She loved to quote Bible verses, asking God to protect us as we headed out the door. While we miss her so, we are thankful she is reunited with her husband and they are enjoying paradise together. We long for the day when we will see you both again. Blow us a kiss and catch ours to you!

A public viewing will be held at Hill Funeral Home on December 10th  from 9-11 am.  A private burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery.

The memorial will be held at Edgewood Bible Church on December 11th at 1pm. Edgewood Bible Church 1720 Meridian Ave E Edgewood.
