Obituary of Richard Robert Andersen
Longtime Puyallup resident Richard R Andersen passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital on July 14, 2021 at the age of 92.
Richard was born in Tacoma, Wa. on August 24th, 1928 to Viola and Roy Andersen. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Tacoma and electronics school in Long Beach, CA.
He worked 36 years as a microwave and radio engineer for the Boeing Company. Richard had a love for all things electronic and spent many years repairing TV’s and other electronics for friends, family and members of his church. He was a huge lover of music.
He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Puyallup. He spent countless volunteer hours serving the church in support of the facilities and other areas. He was well loved by the staff and congregation at Immanuel.
He was married to the love of his life, Betty Lou for 36 years. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou, His daughters Barbara and Julie, and his son David. Also preceded in death by his two brother, Jack Andersen and Gordon Andersen.
He is survived by his son Richard (Carol) and daughter Virginia Adams. He is also survived by nine grand children and 5 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church Saturday July 24th at 1:00 PM.
