Jim Parrish

Obituary of Jim Parrish

James "Jim" Wesley Parrish peacefully joined his Heavenly Father on March 10, 2020 at the age of 77.  He was born June 9, 1942 to Leroy "Pete" and Marsha "Bobbie" (Dillard) Parrish in Redding, CA.

Jim grew up in Hines/Burns, OR.  Jim and his older brother Gary went on many adventures such as hunting, fishing and chasing jackrabbits through the countryside sage brush on their Harley Davidson motorcycles.

After graduation Jim joined the United States Air Force where he served abroad and at home from 1960-1964 during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  He was very proud of the experience he shared.

Jim married his loving wife Joann (Christensen) April 15, 1966 in Springfield, OR.  Together they raised Jimmy and Jeff on ten acres outside Pleasant Hill, OR.  Those who knew Jim understood he had the gift of gab and an infectious smile that most certainly catapulted his 38 year career in sales with Keenan Supply/Hajoca.

Jim was an avid golfer and member of the Springfield Country Club.  In his early years he received several trophies while racing motocross.  He enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing throughout his life but most of all he cherished and dedicated his time around his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his wife Joann, sister-in-law Flo Parrish, son Jeff, granddaughters Kassandra Parrish Allen (Brandon) and Sadie Jo Parrish, grandsons Dawson James Parrish and Carter Wayne Parrish and great grandson Owen Allen  He is also survived by step granddaughter Catalina Gunter and step grandson Ryan Gunter, daughters-in-law Kimberly K. Parrish and Leilanie Gunter Parrish and numerous nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son James L. Parrish and brother Gary Parrish.
