Obituary of Deborah Jensema

Deborah (Debbie) Louise Jensema, age 67, went home to Jesus on October 24th, 2020 at Providence- Saint Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. She spent her last years living in Yelm and working for Heartland Express as a Fleet Manager, where she absolutely loved working.

Debbie was born on May 6, 1953 to Clarence and Evelyn Jensema in Wausau, Wisconsin. She was the fourth of six children. In 1955, the family moved from Wisconsin to Colorado where they spent about a year before moving to Washington. Once in Washington, Debbie spent three years living between a couple places in Tacoma and Puyallup with her family before settling in a home in Tacoma, Washington. She attended school in the Franklin Pierce School District and graduated Franklin Pierce High School in 1972. After graduation, Debbie continued to work and care for three children, which she had between 1969 and 1979.

Over her working career, she enjoyed positions at Peterson’s Poultry, EJ Poultry, Reddaway Trucking and Heartland Express (formerly Interstate Distributor Co.) Debbie was extremely passionate about family and being in the great outdoors. She would give anything to be outside by a campfire surrounded by family and friends. Debbie had a heart of gold and would do for others before she would do for herself. Many would say she was the life of the party. In her spare time, she would read books, watch movies and play games on her phone.

Debbie is survived by her Children, Kris (Tanya), Thomas and Branden (Corina); Brothers and Sisters, Russel (Lisa), Janice (Glen), Arliss (Tami), Mary (Joel); Sister-In-Laws, Betty and Linda; Grandchildren, Shawn, Melissa, Ashley, Thomas, Bryson, Jace, Isla, Courtney; Great-Grandchild, Lily; several wonderful nieces and nephews; and many amazing extended family members and life-long friends.

She is preceded in death by Mother & Father, Clarence and Evelyn and brothers, Ron and Kenneth.
