Obituary of Ashley Okert

Ashley was born on 7/26/2017 in Tacoma, WA and received her wings on 7/16/2020 in Tacoma, WA surrounded by family and friends. Ashley bravely fought cancer for over six months and was a fighter until the very end. Throughout this time Ashley’s contagious smile still showed through and she brightened the lives of everyone she met. Her favorite activities were playing with her sister, playing with her favorite toys, watching Frozen 1 & 2, Toy Story 3, Shrek and any dog or cat movies she could find. She loved animals, especially puppies and kitties. Ashley found joy in their presence and always lit up when she was visited by them. Ashley was an adventurous girl who loved to play outside with her family. Ashley was a born entertainer who also had a passion for singing and dancing to her favorite songs. She also had a love for listening to drumming, songs and attending Pow-Wows.

Ashley is survived by her parents Russell and Shaina Okert, older Sister Lexi Okert, Grandmother Wendy Oakes, Godparents Tiffany and Mike Leone (Cousins Anna, Brittney, Natalie), Uncle Chris Okert, Uncle CJ Oakes, Aunt Serenity Oakes (Cousins Khurt, Ehric, Whynter, Ehlijah, Ehvanjaleen, Tehmperance), Uncle Jon Lord, Aunt Mary Malone (Cousins Kyler, Dylan, Brian), Uncle Donnie Lord, Great Aunt Charla Davis, Great Uncle John Davis, Cousin Ronnie Mason, Cousin Candi Ruckman (Cousin Kamden), and many other Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and additional family who loved Ashley.
