Jim Parrish

Obituary of Jim Parrish

Jim Parrish, 49, passed away on February 9th after a year-long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Kimberly, daughters Kassandra (Brandon) Allen and Sadie Parrish, his parents James and Joann Parrish, his brother Jeff (Leilanie), his grandson Owen, his nieces and nephews, and many others.

Jim was born in Eureka, CA and raised in Pleasant Hill, OR. He graduated from Pleasant Hill High School (home of the Pleasant Hill Billies) and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Ashford University.

Jim spent the majority of his career in the landscape industry, most recently as a Regional Sales Manager for Hunter Industries. While that may have been his title, Jim described himself as more of a Relationship Manager. Anyone who met him will remember his infectious smile, his great sense of humor, his dedication to family and career, his strong work ethic and the pride he felt in helping others. Jim worked hard, loved hard and played hard.

As a self-proclaimed gearhead, Jim had a passion for anything with a motor, including vintage cars and motorcycles. He was always seeking out the next great deal, and enjoyed working to bring his finds back to their former glory. More than anything, Jim loved spending time with his family and buddies, whether at home watching a movie, hosting a BBQ, walking through a car show or traveling to new destinations.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Marymount Event Center located at 325 152nd St E in Tacoma on Sunday, March 1st at 1:00 p.m.
