Obituary of David Gadberry

David Gadberry Sr.,63 born October 14th, 1955 in Seattle, WA passed away suddenly and left us to soon in the early morning of June 20th next to his loving wife, who never left his side. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather (Opa), brother and best friend. Dave joined the Army at the young age of 17 and was stationed in Germany where at the age of 18 he met the love of his life Marianne and married her soon after. He served in the Army for the next 23years before settling down in Orting, Washington and starting a second career with the state as Juvenile Corrections Officer at Echo Glen, he was there until he retired in 2014. He and Marianne then fulfilled a dream of retiring in Arizona and spending the summer in Washington aka snowbirds. Dave was an amazing, caring, supportive man who lived for his wife and grandchildren. He would do anything for his family and friends and was always there with a smile, a joke or a dance move. You will be missed always Opa! Our hearts are broken. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Marianne Gadberry. His sons David Gadberry Jr. (Stacy) and Alexander Gadberry (Karin). Two Grandchildren Amara Gadberry and Alexander (AJ) Gadberry Jr. who meant the world to him. His Mother Lorraine Duke and step father Darrell Duke. Brothers Joe Gadberry (Hannah) and Mike Gadberry (Louanne) and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Eldon Gadberry, Infant sister Judy Ann and Brothers Richard and Bobby Gadberry. In lieu of flowers please donate in Dave’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project. Funeral Services will be held at Hill funeral home in Puyallup on Monday July 1st, for those that would like, there will be an open casket viewing from 0930 – 1015. The service will be from 1030-1130 with a reception to be held immediately after from 1130-1245 in the Hill Funeral Home Fellowship Hall. He will be laid to rest at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent with full military honors at 18600 SE 240th St. Kent, WA 98402 at 2pm.
