Obituary of Muriel Hill

Muriel Joyce (Weber) Hill Muriel Joyce Weber was born on August 1, 1933, to Ada Clerice and Walter Herbert Weber in Yakima, Washington. She graduated from Highline High School in 1950. She went on to college at Western Washington where she graduated to become a teacher. Muriel married Thomas Eugene Hill in 1953 and they had 58 years together. One of Muriel’s joys was teaching. Muriel taught school in the Puyallup School District for 32 years spending her time at Fruitland Elementary (4th and 5th grade) and later Ridgecrest Elementary (5th grade). Another of her joys was music. She loved classical music and played Viola in the Tacoma Symphony for over 30 years. Muriel also loved the out of doors. She was an avid gardener and spent many years selling flowers and produce at the Puyallup Farmers’ market. Muriel passed away at her home surrounded by friends and family on Thursday, January 24th, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Eugene Hill, mother Ada Clerice (Canfield) Weber, father Walter Herbert Weber, and two brothers, Walter Weber and Vic Weber. Muriel is survived by two sisters, Iris (Weber) Martin and Loraine (Weber) Burdick. She is also survived by her four children, Tresa (Mark) Latham, Leslie (Mike) Emmons, Tim (Drina) Hill and Steve (Sandi) Hill. She leaves behind 17 grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held Friday, March 1 at 1 PM at Elim Evangelical Free Church, 9421 128th St. E, Puyallup, WA 98373.
