Jerry Ray Parypa passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 after a battle with cancer and pneumonia.
Jerry was born in Tacoma, Washington and spent most of his childhood in Lakewood, and graduated from West Bremerton High School in 1964.
Jerry served in the Air Force and returned to Washington State to continue his education earning a Bachelor’s Degree at Central Washington University. He entered Federal Civil Service early in his career and retired after 35+ years of public service.
Jerry loved skiing, traveling, camping, hiking, hot weather, “ice cold water”, and spending time with his family and friends. He was generous, kind, and thoughtful, especially with his four granddaughters with whom he shared lots of ice cream and love. He lived an abundant life filled with love, fun, laughter, faith and things that brought him joy.
He traveled between his homes in Puyallup, Ocean Park and Green Valley spending as much time as possible outdoors beachcombing, around the campfire and hiking in the desert. He was an avid collector of memoribilia, sea shells and memories.
His family will love Jerry always and cherish his memory in our hearts.
In addition to his many friends, his family is mourning their loss: His longtime partner, Patricia Parypa; loving daughters Cassandra Philip and Valerie Watt; sons-in-law Jamie Philip and Michael Watt; granddaughters Aurora, Amelia, Fiona and Piper. His brothers and sisters-in-law: Andy and Kathy, Larry, Greg and Sue, Gary and Davina, and Mike; and also countless extended family members.
